Kayaking/Active Thames/Active Essex/British Canoeing

Updated: May 3, 2022

With support from Active Thames, Active Essex & British Canoeing we are proud to announce that we will be offering kayaking sessions along the shores here in Southend.

With the purchase of kayaks, paddles, buoyancy aids and safety equipment, our aim is to encourage more women to take up kayaking and become coaches.

We will also be reaching out to mental health organisation’s in and around the locale in a view to helping people return to exercise and improve their health and well-being.

Sessions will be FREE to attend and will run on a weekly basis from March through to September 2022. An exciting project and opportunity for us to be involved in.

During the course of the session you will be provided for use, thermal lined beanies, Dryrobes, buoyancy aid along with your paddle and kayak.

To protect your mobile phone and keys etc there is a waterproof dry bag that you can secure in the locking dry hatch on board the kayak, easy to reach for those photo opportunities.

We recommend wearing suitable gym clothing and trainers, water based clothing and footwear if you have them being the preferred choice but not essential.

If you are looking for a change and feel kayaking may just be what you’re after, or perhaps you need some ‘Blue Therapy’ and this could be just the right thing.

To book in for one of the kayak sessions, head to our booking’s page, scroll down and click on the introduction to Kayaking to secure your free space.
